Have you met Grace?
I've been learning a lot about Grace. Maybe you don't know her but I am pretty sure like Wisdom, Joy and Discernment, Grace is a she..girl power :)
Grace- Unmerited Favor
Growing up, all I knew about grace was that it is unmerited favor but I still didn't know how to apply that to my life. As I grew older, I learned that grace will "wash away all your sins" and "cleanse you". This is not incorrect but it is incomplete.
Grace redefined
We can agree that murder is pretty horrid. However, if someone commits murder, repents (makes a decision to leave that lifestyle behind) and asks for forgiveness, grace will take care of that sin). But this is the lesser truth - the greater truth is that grace is so much more than a "cover up". Grace will give you the power to prevent you from murdering and will even take away your desire.
Grace and the Kingdom
Today my pastor taught about grace and the Kingdom of God. As long as we have a revelation of how perfect heaven is, we should not tolerate anything on earth that is not common in heaven. There is no lack in heaven; no one missing limbs, no one lacking healing or peace. If we believe this, why do we tolerate something so uncommon on earth? When Jesus came, there was an expectation of a physical manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven. He had to explain to the Pharisees (Jews) that the Kingdom of God is in you. We already have everything we need in this life.
Practical Application
1. Know your rights and the will of God for your life and don't compromise or settle for anything less
2. Do not tolerate anything that does not line up with the Word of God or that is uncommon in heaven - say to God in your own words that you will not tolerate it and in faith you receive a change in the situation.
3. Expect to see grace work in your life
Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
