This book came to mind when my doctor advised that I should be careful about consuming dairy. I LOVE chocolate, cheese, milkshakes, ice-cream, lattes and the works so when I started reacting negatively to dairy, it was hard to digest (pun intended) that I would be subject to a dairy free life. I am believing for complete healing and that my body will once again produce enough enzymes of lactase to breakdown my lactose. In the interim, I am on a white rice and meat diet, not so bad eh?! This is what the doctor recommends for the elimination stage:
Fruit: Banana, blueberry, grapefruit, grapes, honeydew melon, kiwi, lemon, lime, mandarin oranges, orange, raspberry, strawberry
Sweetner: glucose, maple syrup, sugar
Lactose alternative: brie, camembert, yogurt, gelato, rice milk, sorbet
Vegetables: bok choy, carrots, celery, corn, eggplant, green beans, lettuce, parsnip, scallions (green part), tomato
Garlic (small portions)
Reintroduce one food at a time
72 hours with no symptoms reintroduce another food
Mother Nature is so unkind, I leave my doctor's appointment and the verdict is in "blood tests show lactose intolerance"; not only is every other person eating an ice-cream cone but I see this.
There is a truck on the corner selling 99c cones, I have never seen this in all my life!

Looking forward to dinner with Nechelle! Today was scheduled to be jam packed, I had dinner with Nechelle at 5:45PM, 7PM conference call so I had a laptop just in case I wouldn't make it home in time and then a basketball game at 9PM. I missed my Reason for God book club discussion, I was super irritated because I took all the precautions to make sure I could be there. Headed downtown in time for game. Ren's defense was on point; coach was not subtle about cheating, his team played well.

I bought tix for my dad and I to go to a soccer game so I asked him if we could celebrate Father's Day on 6/24 instead of 6/17. He came up to NY, we had breakfast and then went to Manhattan to watch the 2:45PM England vs Italy game on TV. He had a great time and thought it was all over. I realized how much my dad trusts me because all I said is "I want to show you something" and like sheep heading to the slaughter house, I led him to the Red Bulls Arena where we watched a live game with Red Bulls and DC United. Red Bulls won and my dad had a great time.

Happy Birthday Ladika! I am so excited about how our friendship is blossoming. Love you loads!!! I slept by Ladi's house last night. We went for breakfast in Astoria and at night she went to River Café with her beau. I spent most of my day talking to Ladi, in the evening I went to church. Roxanne and Roland were there too! After church, Roxanne tried to treat me to a birthday dinner but I snuck and paid the bill lol
After every few days of crazy activities, I go home and crash by 8PM! Thursday was one of these days. I was supposed to go to Sundance Vacations to pick up my free tickets for a cruise to Bahamas but I was too tired

My friends kept asking me what I wanted to do for my birthday, they were used to a month long celebration or at least a week! There were not a lot of things that I wanted to do. I did NOT want to do dinner, a play, movie or the regular birthday activities. I wanted to do something interactive ON my birthday.
Whether you call it KTV (China), Norebang (South Korea) or Karaoke (Japan/adopted by USA) - all I wanted to do was sing my heart out. So after work, a few of us met up, grabbed the mic and sang the night away.
Adrienne, Bev, Julia, Ladika, Ren, Roland, Roxanne and Shakira met me for karaoke
It was really funny, you had to be there!
It's ma birthday!
